FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 15, 2024
Reno, NV – Today, prominent Washoe County Republican leaders State Senator Heidi Seevers-O’Gara and Sheriff Darin Balaam encouraged GOP voters to participate in the upcoming election using whichever method works best for them—whether by mail, early voting, or in-person on Election Day noting that all choices are safe and reliable.
As members of RightCount Nevada — an organization dedicated to rebuilding trust in Nevada’s secure election system — O’Gara and Balaam are committed to working with state and local authorities to monitor and improve election systems accuracy, integrity, and trustworthiness in all 17 Nevada counties. Both have said this collaboration is crucial to ensuring a fair electoral process for the upcoming election in November.
“Washoe Republicans can feel secure voting by mail—I mailed my ballot in today,” said State Senator Heidi Seevers-O’Gara. “Our election system is built on giving voters choices. What matters most is that all Republicans can feel confidence that their votes will be counted.”
Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam also encouraged confidence in the system and said, “We know the importance of trust in elections. Every option—early voting, mail-in ballots, and in-person voting—are transparent, safe and secure. Many Republicans in Washoe County have already voted by mail, and I encourage everyone to get out and vote with the trust that our voting system is protected from outside interference.”
To check your ballot status, The Washoe County Registrar of Voters have the option for voters to:
