PRESS RELEASE: Governor Jan Brewer Praises Strength of U.S. Election System, Hard Work of Arizona Election Workers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 10, 2024
Phoenix, Az. — Former Governor Jan Brewer, Chair of RightCount Arizona, issued a statement today recognizing the strength, integrity, and dedication demonstrated throughout Arizona’s election process. With record-breaking voter turnout, election workers in Maricopa County and across the entire state handled an extraordinary number of voters, managed lines, and reported results efficiently, transparently and accurately.
“Arizona’s election workers have been the backbone of our democracy. Their tireless commitment to processing votes and maintaining order across polling locations—from Maricopa County to every corner of Arizona—has ensured a fair, accurate, and smoothly conducted election. Their work, coupled with the advocacy of our statewide leadership committee, should give every Arizonan a renewed confidence in the strength and reliability of our election system.”
Governor Brewer continued by urging all Americans to come together in the wake of this closely contested election, acknowledging that the challenges our nation faces are best met with cooperation. “Now that the election is over, it is the time to put aside our differences and address the pressing challenges that confront America. Whether we are working to build a stronger economy, secure our southern border or safeguard our national security, we must remember that the future is something we can only shape together.”
Governor Brewer emphasized that RightCount will continue its mission of building public trust in America’s election process. “In an election season as closely watched and competitive as this one, we recognize that not all my fellow Arizonans will be pleased with the outcome. RightCount will remain committed to enhancing public confidence in our election process here in Arizona, ensuring that every voter can trust their voice has been heard, and their vote has counted.”
RightCount conducted survey research and educated citizens across Arizona on election integrity issues. In addition to producing ads featuring trusted messengers and voting safeguards, the 501(c)(3) organization successfully recruited and launched a leadership advisory committee and garnered statewide and national news media coverage to build public confidence in the voting process and election outcomes. Brewer herself called on Arizonans and her fellow Republicans to focus on substantive policy issues in their campaigns as opposed to undermining trust in election outcomes.
Along with Governor Brewer, RightCount’s Leadership Advisory Committee is comprised of civic leaders from across Arizona, including former Legislative District 4 Chair Kathy Petsas, former Pima County Chair David Eppihimer, former Arizona Republican Party Chair Robert Graham, former Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell, former congressional staff member and county elections employee Marcus Milam, LDS faith leader Jane Andersen, former Phoenix City Councilman Braden Biggs, former GOP Committee Chairman Paul Cummings, and veterans Josh Stanwitz and Amanda Tallman.
